Research Interests

Penny Travlou’s interests lie in the field of cultural/urban geography, building on her PhD at the Department of Geography, University of Durham. Her research is interdisciplinary, focusing on the politics of public space, inclusive outdoor environments, urban theory, digital space and ethnographic research methods. As a Research Fellow at OPENspace, she has worked on various projects, including ‘Wild Adventure Space: its role in teenagers’ lives’ for Natural England and ‘Community green: using local spaces to tackle inequality and improve health’.
