Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Luciana Gattass holds a magna cum laude BA in Film Studies from Columbia University (1999), and both an MA and a PhD in Literary Theory from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio, 2007 and 2011). She was Visiting Doctoral Fellow at Brown University in 2010 and has held postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Bergen (2012) and at State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ, 2014-2015). Since moving to Hong Kong in 2014, she has served as has Lecturer at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (2015) and is now Honorary Assistant Professor and Postdoctoral Fellow at the the School of English at the University of Hong Kong. Her current research focuses on the cultural and sociopolitical implications of digital technologies. Gattass has also published on electronic literature and on the Digital Humanities.
